Science: Year ones and twos were set a challenge to design an experiment to find out which material is best for making a parachute. They planned their experiment last week and then this week had fun working together to make parachutes out of paper and plastic. They discovered that paper wasn’t a good material for a parachute as it broke too easily. They also found out that plastic worked better and that a bigger parachute made of plastic worked better than a smaller one.
Maths: Reception children have had fun learning about capacity this week with lots of practical work outside in the sunshine! They tested lots of different containers to find out which held more or less.
