School Council update 30/01/14

During School Council assembly this week we’ve focoused on Red nose day. We have Researched where the money goes and who it benefits, and presented our findings to the whole school. The majority of the school voted in favour of selling Red noses with in school.  The money raised from the sale of the noses alongside our whole school event (yet to be finalised) will be given to a much deserved charity.

Some of our  school councillors braved chilling temperatures this week to measure out the school grounds.  We  are now working on a scale plan of the grounds and our intentions on how best to utilise the space.

Please keep your suggestions coming in.

School Council Update

During school council assembly this week, we, as a whole school voted on various facilities for our grounds project.  the following ideas received a majority yes vote: pond, nature area, outside class room and bird feeding zone.  The school council will now investigate these options further.  Next week we plan to draw up a scaled plan of the outside area so we can begin to think where these options can be sited.

We have signed up for the Sainsbury’s voucher scheme.  Please collect and return all vouchers to the school office.  Each year these vouchers are used to increase our sports equipment.

We have received an information pack in regards to World Book Day.  This year we will be launching an extreme reading photo competition.  Further details will follow soon.

Please let us know your ideas.

School Council Update

Happy new year!  Our 2015 diary is filling up fast.  We have already secured 3 fund raising charities to support this year.  Red nose day, World book day, and brain Tumour Awareness day.  We are currently finalising ideas in which to support these charities.  Look out for details nearer the events.

Our focus this half term is to make improvements to our school grounds.  We have a beautiful site but feel that we can get so much more out of the space.  This week we have gathered ideas from the whole school as to what outdoor facilities they would like to have.  We will be assessing these ideas in terms of their viability and cost at next weeks council meeting.

We want your ideas on how you would like to support the following: Red Nose Day and world book day.

As ever we welcome all suggestions to help make our school even better than what it already is.
