Tim Peake launch – Tuesday 15th December

We celebrated the launch of Brit Tim Peake on Tuesday 15th December. He is the first British astronaut to visit the ISS (International Space Station) and the whole event was witnessed live on the BBC website by our children. The children loved talking about space exploration, potential jobs and the whole expedition; which we have been following for a while now. In class 3 we made rocket biscuits, paper rockets and designed meals for Tim Peake during his six month visit to the ISS. We also have some rocket seeds with Tim at the moment, which will be returning to Earth in June, which we will then plant and continue with the scientific experiment started in space.2015-12-15 10.48.172015-12-15 10.26.242015-12-15 10.26.322015-12-15 10.25.132015-12-15 10.49.092015-12-15 10.27.082015-12-15 11.30.042015-12-15 11.30.41

The good, the bad and the donkey

All the children at Bishops Nympton are so excited for our Christmas production this year. They have been busily learning their lines; singing their songs and bringing in costumes for what promises to be a spectacular play. The good, the bad and the donkey has its first production at 1:30pm on Friday 11th December. Then at 4pm on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th December. We have had a great uptake of tickets and are full to the rafters with 110 guests for each performance.

We all look forward to seeing you then. The good the bad and the donkey

Following on from our second place success in the year 3 / 4 athletics tournament, it was the turn of our year 5 / 6
athletes to test their skills against 9 other local schools.  You hopefully saw the smiles on the children’s faces around school today and the shiny bling around their necks, as I can proudly say that we came first, winning gold medals.  An amazing achievement, one which we are very proud of!  2nd and 1st place during the athletics season is a fabulous return for the training and efforts put into athletics this half term.  Next up is football.  Training
information will be confirmed in the new year.
