Science Day 3rd March

Today we had our second visit from Jo for another exciting Space day! After an assembly to introduce the day, Class 2 went back to our classroom to complete an experiment about meteors and craters. First of all, Jo had given us some real meteorites to hold and have a look at!

We then had to use marbles and rocks to investigate meteors. We dropped them in sand and measured the craters that they left behind to find out which weight or size meteor made the biggest crater.

In the afternoon, we went back to the hall for an investigation about rockets! We were using long balloons to see how far they would go depending how much ‘fuel’ they had. This involved measuring the distance, time and making sure it was a fair test each time.

Class 2 had a great day and enjoyed all the science activities that we did! I would also like to take this opportunity to say a big thankyou to the parents that joined us for this exciting day!
