As part of our vision of being able to grow fruit and vegetables in our working vegetable garden we are competing within school in a potato growing competition.  The potato council have sent us our ‘grow your own packs’ and we are well underway.

Each class have been chitting their potatoes on a sunny window sill for over a week.  Yesterday, class 2 and 3 took the plunge and decided that their potatoes where ready to be transferred into their grow bags.  Each Class throughout the school are responsible for their own potatoes and will not receive any assistance from myself.

The class with the greatest weight of potatoes at harvest time will be crowned potato champions and will enjoy some cookery time with their winning harvest.
