Ofsted Graded as ‘good’

We are celebrating after Ofsted graded us as ‘good’ in all areas following a one day inspection on 22nd February 2017.

In the report, the Ofsted inspector stated “the leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection” and that we are “committed to improving the school further.”

I am sure you will agree, as you look around the school, that there have been a number of visual improvements throughout from our displays, the school grounds to the work in the children’s books and this was recognised by the inspector as he went on to state “staff are determined to make sure Bishops Nympton school continues to go from strength to strength.”

The inspector spoke at length to our children and was pleased to hear that they “enjoy coming to school and working alongside their friends and teachers” and that we are “a friendly school, where any concerns are quickly sorted out.” Our children were able to share their work with the inspector with enthusiasm and were able to show how they have improved, especially within their writing.

We are truly a strong team who work hard to provide our children with the most stimulating and inspiring education that we can and provide numerous enrichment opportunities from a number of clubs on offer, the Tim Peake project we have recently been involved in and the rapidly developing grounds projects led by Mr Scandrett. We strive to see ways to improve and work hard to ensure that our school is a safe one. It was great to hear that the inspector also found that “safeguarding arrangements are rigorous and robust.”

Well done to all the children, staff and parents for, what I am sure you will all agree, is an excellent outcome.

Mrs Scandrett
