Congratulations to Amber, our 2017 sports day champions. Racking up a massive 965 points, amber are deserved winners of this years sports day trophy. A fantastic day of sporting challenges and competition resulted in many tired legs and red cheeks.
Our morning round robin competition of 8 physical challenges tested the children in various components of their physical fitness. Speed, agility, strength, endurance, balance, flexibility were all on show as every child in the school gave their team 100%, earning them points to be carried forward into the afternoon races.
A supportive crowd cheered on all the runners during the afternoon races. The determination to succeed was etched on every child’s face as they ran for individual glory and to add to their teams points total. Ruby House, sports day victors for the last two years, closely matched Amber throughout with Sapphire and Emerald closely following behind.
However, Amber had the speed to get them across the finish line as sports day winners. Well done to all the children who demonstrated their sporting prowess, determination and team work throughout the day. We are very proud of you all!
A huge thank you to our PTA, who kept the supporters fed and watered with pasties, and other refreshments as well as continuing to proudly support our school with a varied range of stalls and games. It was great to see so many of our Bishops Nympton School family on the side lines, suffering Mr Gurneys jokes, but enjoying a fabulously entertaining sports day.
