Christmas party day

Class 2 had a great Christmas party day. The children spent the day cooking and decorating melted snowman biscuits, watching a Christmas movie and having fun at the Christmas party. The party involved lots of games and party food. Thank you to all parents who brought in party food. I think the children especially enjoyed coming to school dressed in their pyjamas!!

Running Club – Cross Country

To finish off the season Julie put together a fantastic finale event this week.

The children were able to exploit a gap in the rain and took to the cross country course. They all performed brilliantly and really enjoyed the event. We were supported by several marshals and everything “ran” very smoothly (sorry couldn’t resist).

This was our smaller scale school version of the Gliddon and Squire League Cross Country series of events across North Devon where Erin and Barnaby (and now Hope) have been competing (photos coming soon). These events on Sundays are a fantastic way into the sport. Well done to our fab Bish Nym competitors.

Christmas learning

It’s that time of year again when we have started to learn about Christmas. We have had a jolly busy week with Aladdin performances, and taking part in the first week of our Christmas learning. Look at the learning we have explored this week!

Next week will be busy with Christmas dinner, carol concert rehearsals and more busy learning about Christmas.

Class 2 Christmas cards

Our school council have been discussing ways in which we can be more Eco-friendly this year and have had some fantastic ideas. This year we are trying to use our resources more creatively, and not to create as much waste. With this way of thinking, we are going to be sending  Christmas E-cards instead.

Firstly, the school council requested that we created our Christmas art (Christmas card front cover) using our talented art skills as part of our learning about Christmas. Then, we were requested to blog the Christmas art to all parents so they could see our wonderful creations. Finally, it was requested that parents would be able to send a card using their child’s amazing Christmas art by printing their child’s art at home. If you would like your child’s Christmas artwork, then please message Mrs Lake through dojo or email the school admin and we will e-mail your child’s art to you.

Merry Christmas

Many thanks for working with us as eco-warriors!
